Terry Stevens has worked on strategic sports projects and destination development in over 50 countries around the world for a wide range of international, national and regional clients including the UN World Tourism Organisation, UNESCO, UNDP, the European Bank of Reconstruction and IDI, as well as blue chip private sector companies such as Coca Cola, Welsh Rugby Union, Millennium Stadium, Philips, South Africa World Cup.
Terry was a Member and Vice Chair of the Wales Tourist Board and is a Fellow of the American Leisure Academy. He is a recognised specialist in sport tourism and the economic impact of sports and major events, undertaking numerous studies on the contribution of sport to tourism and economic regeneration. Terry was also part of an international team developing the concept of Olympic Spirit, a celebration of the Olympic Games, on behalf of International Development Olympic Spirit, a licensed company of the International Olympic Committee. He is a regular speaker at international conferences on sport and tourism, such as SportAccord, and is a member of the European Institute for Venue Management’s delivery team. He is currently Visiting Professor of Strategic Communication and Destination Place Making at the School of Management, Swansea University.
