The growth in participation across all cycling disciplines and increasing success among Irish elite cyclists are among two of the key areas for future focus in the newly launched Cycling Ireland Five Year Strategy. The strategy was devised by W2 Consulting after a period of consultation with a broad range of stakeholders. The growing status of the sport and the ambition of Cycling Ireland to capitalise on this recent success is reflected across the 6 pillars of the strategy from sport development to becoming the national voice for cycling. Membership of Cycling Ireland has grown to 23,000 members and almost 400 clubs.
The Strategy is being officially launched at the annual Cycling Ireland Awards Night this Saturday 15th November 2014.
